Very good game! Congrats to the Wave.
I'm not a Gate City fan, but I would have like to seen them win over Clintwood. Clintwood should continue to have a good team for the next couple of years. And, I have no doubt that fans in the Region D have not seen the last of Gate City. There is such a long tradition there and I'm sure they'll be back on top soon.
Keep in mind I'm a PHS graduate and have no attachment in any shape or form to CHS or GCHS. These observations come from me being on completely neutral ground.
I heard from the GC side words that should never be spoken in public. I heard women cuss like sailors. I heard a man threaten the ref - called him everything in the book, plus a few I'd never heard. I photographed him mid-rant. I should post his pic so he can be outed lol. I heard GC coaches and players calling the refs "clintwood refs" it was all "homecooking" "crooked refs." I told Indian_Dad I think I heard the GC fans/players/coaches yell "home cooking" no less than 947 times in the first half.
When you're standing on the field working, and the people immediately behind you (and women at that) are screaming obscenities in both your ears, that's too much. I personally am one to let people know I'm offended by their behavior and I did as such tonight.
I dont know if all I saw/heard while on the GC is appropriate for public but if I was from GC I'd be completely ashamed. Unfortunately the kids are learning and starting to emulate this behavior.
I did move to the CHS after the half and the only issue I had was working around the coaches who tended to hang out on the field, and trying to stay out of the endzone, where the finer GC fans with the "fine vocabulary and great social skills" were hanging out.
I will explain one more observation: End of the 4th. 14-14. CHS is on their feet, players amped up, everyone yelling..... and GC fans sitting with their hands in their laps. Way to get your team worked up guys....
I thought I saw you out there with a red sweater on.
I heard the same kind of comments in the little league baseball field parking lot after the game. A big gaggle of them spouting off, cursing, making complete fools of themselves. Luckily (for them), they had nothing to say to me.
Dang, I wish I'd been with you.
The guy that called the ref everything in then book and then some apparently had to be restrained from getting to the ref & then carted off by law enforcement.
It was just little old me in green.
I'm glad to see you kept your clothes on, as it was suggested you'd be streaking.
I was out there in a red shirt & red jacket.
Short person. blonde hair. big camera.

Classy.
They've got too many bad apples over there. I met Jason tonight and you couldn't have met a better fellow. I've met Observer and he was the same. Nothing but a good fellow.
Wild Bill and broady are very nice. And Wild Bill is very large!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
